Now load up the old save, pay through the nose for the demon, and summon it at the right time, and you can beat the boss. This is really useful if you are stuck on Thage at the Third Stratum boss, which requires a Second Stratum guardian to break its Demon Barrier (annoying, I know.) - play through Olifen or Ashley, and use that trick to put the guardian into the Lexicon. Now you've unlocked the boss in the Lexicon. Grind the boss for PP first, save on the third save, grind for a skill, save on the third save, and then sell. Say you want to fill in every last bit of the Lexicon with captured Majin, but don't want to fight every boss three times in three separate playthroughs? Just keep a separate save to write over.
